Aerial surveys were conducted on predetermined tracklines on monthly intervals across the year. All marine mammal sightings were closed on to collect high resolution digital images used to determine species ID in the Lab and to estimate abundance. These data are regularly added to the ongoing seasonal distribution and abundance analyses conducted by CREEM at each of the sites surveyed for the Navy monitoring program.
The original survey data are separated into two datasets, from left-side and right-side observers upon provider's request. This dataset is from the left side sighting data. The right side sighting data are available on OBIS-SEAMAP in the AFTT JAX Aerial Survey -Right side- 2014 dataset.
datetime_ini, latitude_ini and longitude_ini are added and calculated by OBIS-SEAMAP through the consultation with the provider.
Attributes described below represent those in the original dataset provided by the provider.
This section explains attributes included in the original dataset. OBIS-SEAMAP restricts the attributes available to the public to date/time, lat/lon and species names/counts only. Should you need other attributes described here, you are encouraged to contact the data provider.
