These data were obtained from harbour porpoises (Phocoena phocoena) equipped with satellite-linked transmitters in the Gulf of Maine. All porpoises were obtained from herring weirs on the island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick Canada (44 deg 45' N 67 deg 45' W) during the summer months (July to September). Details on each porpoise are given in the summary table. Positional data are obtained via Service ARGOS (http://www.argosinc.com/). See Read and Westgate (1997) for complete details of tagging methods.
