Version 1.0.0 El Archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina, con una extensión aproximada de 180.000 km2, está compuesto por tres islas con población humana residente y un gran número de islas pequeñas, cayos, bajos y bancos que se extienden de noreste a suroeste en el Caribe occidental colombiano. Reconociendo singularidades como su tamaño, composición geomorfológica, ubicación, recursos pesqueros, área potencial para energías renovables, diversidad de especies y riqueza de ecosistemas, la UNESCO declaró al Archipiélago como Reserva de Biosfera Seaflower. En los últimos años la Comisión Colombiana del Océano- CCO ha venido organizando anualmente expediciones científicas a diferentes localidades de la Reserva; la última expedición realizada (2018) fue a las islas ubicadas en el límite sur del archipiélago, Islas Cayo de Albuquerque (Cayo Suroeste). La información presentada en el presente proyecto fue colectada durante el primer turno de la expedición llevado a cabo del 23 de septiembre al 3 de octubre de 2018. El muestreo se realizó de forma intensiva por medio de censo errante con equipo de buceo autónomo durante aproximadamente 30 minutos en cada estación evaluada alrededor de los cayos. Las profundidades evaluadas oscilaron entre 2 y 35 m. En total fueron evaluadas 35 estaciones donde pudieron registrarse 207 especies de peces de las cuales, 26 son nuevos registros para el área y 5 para la Reserva.This dataset was downloaded from OBIS (https://obis.org/).
