Raymond, B and D. Watts. 2020. Seabirds of the Southern and South Indian Ocean. Data downloaded from OBIS-SEAMAP ( on yyyy-mm-dd and originated from OBIS (

This dataset comprises data on the distribution and abundance of seabirds in the Southern Indian Ocean since 1980/81.
Approximately 150000 observations of 26 main species were made from the 1980/81 to 2005/06 seasons. A subset is served by SCAR-MarBIN (ca. 90,000 records).
This work was completed as part of ASAC project 2208 (ASAC 2208).
