Ornithological observations in the southeast of the North Sea between June 1971 and January 1972

Counts of marine bird species observed during three oceanographic cruises in the South-eastern part of the North Sea on board of the A962 "Mechelen" between June 1971 and January 1972. The data were digitized by VLIZ from the original report: Joiris, C. (1972). Observations ornithologiques réalisées dans le sud-est de la Mer du Nord entre juin 1971 et janvier 1972: 1. Oiseaux marins.
A total of 82 h (in 41 days) was spent watching birds during three oceanographic cruises (June-July 1971, August-September 1971 and January 1972 in the South-eastern part of the North Sea.

This dataset was downloaded from OBIS (https://obis.org/). The records for only marine mammals, seabirds, sea turtles and rays and sharks were extracted. Records with no longitude/latitude or no date (eventDate) were excluded.
